Meet Sílvia,
Sílvia Rosa lives in Marinhais, a small town near Santarém. She holds a degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences by FFUL and a PhD in Biotechnology, by IST. She has worked for 16 years in Laboratórios Atral, a Portuguese pharmaceutical industry, where she has worked in different areas QC, R&D, pharmaceutical development, technology transfer, production, and packaging of solid and liquid forms. After that she opened a GMP QC Lab where she was the Qualified Person for 4 years.
Sílvia has joined Stepscience as Senior Pharma Consultant. She has chosen Stepscience because she knows the company from its beginning, and “I admire the top management for the way they manage projects and deal with people.” Besides that, it allows her to have a good work life balance.
At Stepscience, Sílvia has felt “very welcome in the company and within the team. The work environment is very good, there is a sense of teamwork, and mutual collaboration, essential for the success of any organization.” She also values the possibility of working remotely allowing her to manage work and family’s schedules.
Not everything has to do with work. On her time off she likes to do exercise and to read. She would enjoy a day-off with family and friends. She is married, and she is the proud mother of two boys with 8 and 12 years old. Sílvia likes to “meet new people and I love to travel and walking around meeting new places.”
Sílvia considers herself as an easy-going person, “I´m patience and tolerant, and I think I can live the present, without being attached to past or looking forward the future. That helps me to be happy.” She also likes to “to help people next to me, when I know or feel that they need. Some friends say that I’m skilled at mediating conflicts between people.”
In the near future, Sílvia wants to live up to the expectations in her new role and feel that she is a good support for the team.
In Sílvia opinion, Pharmaceutical and Life Sciences Industries will continue to grow and become even more demanding. “Innovation will always be a goal for big pharma. So, I imagine that small pharma will have difficulties to follow up those demands, but I hope that there will be a place for everyone in the future.”
