Meet Joana,
Joana Rita Mendes, was born in Oeiras. She has graduated and post-graduated in Law. After that she has completed an accredited course on Family Mediation. While she was studying, she worked in retail what she considers was an “opportunity to gain a lot of knowledge on communication and on the relevance of being the “face” of a brand.”
As she did not identify herself with the traditional role of a jurist, she decided to embrace the challenge to change area and she is now starting to work in Stepscience as Junior Administrative Assistant. She became confident that “it was a company I would enjoy working with from the energy I got after first meeting the team and its projects; I believe that people that are invested in improving the world, are people that I want to connect with.”
Soon after starting she found at Stepscience the two things she values most at the workplace, teamwork, and respect. She really enjoyed how well everyone got with each other, and the passion each person conveyed about their work.
Outside work, Joana enjoys going out for a walk, eating out with friends, and reading. Her number one suggestion is “Autobiografia Não Autorizada” by Dulce Maria Cardoso. She considers herself as “cautious risk taker, I like thinking of something outside of the box, but never forgetting the steps that need to be taken, and the potential consequences”.
