Meet Mafalda
Mafalda Cruchinho was born in Viana do Castelo. She holds a degree in Biomedical Engineering and a Master’s in Clinical Engineering, both at the University of Minho. She is now embracing her first professional experience as Junior Consultant Pharma, however during her time at the University she worked as a volunteer as member of different students’ associations, ANEEB (National Association of Biomedical Engineer Students) and AAUMINHO (Students Association of the University of Minho).
Mafalda values the respect between the workers, the companionship, the learning environment, and she has found at Stepscience all the values she believes in. She was motivated to join Stepscience team for the opportunity to work in Pharmaceutical Sciences, in particular in Quality Management, one of her favorite subjects in her academic journey. Her first impression is that Stepscience has a great work environment and that she will learn a lot with her teammates.
Mafalda hopes “to see the discovery of new therapeutic’s to fight bacteria’s that are resistant to antibiotics, and to fight the cancer. I also hope that medicinal cannabis to be more accepted by the different medical specialists.”
Not everything has to do with work. In her free time Mafalda enjoys working out at the gym and walking her dogs, Teddy and Myla, at the beach. The perfect day will end with a nice dinner with family and friends that would include a discussion about politics, her favorite topic for an enriching discussion. As she has moved to Lisbon area recently, to join Stepscience team, Mafalda is taking the opportunity to visit landmarks around the city.
Currently Mafalda is working on a project for certification of medical devices. She wants to gain the most knowledge possible about medical devices, and the new European Regulation for medical devices. She also wants to learn more about pharmaceutical sciences and medicinal cannabis.
