Meet Raquel,
Raquel Gaspar was born in Lisbon. She recently completed her Master’s in Chemical and Biochemical engineering at Nova School of Science and Technology (FCT NOVA) where she had the opportunity to expand her knowledge and skills in this exciting field.
As part of her studies, she did an internship at the Instituto Hidrográfico, which is part of the Portuguese Navy. “It was an amazing experience where I analyzed hydrocarbons in sediments along the Portuguese coast. This internship allowed me to apply my knowledge to real-world problems and deepen my understanding of the applicability of the field.”
She has joined Stepscience Pharma & Engineering as a Junior Pharmaceutical Consultant. Raquel decided to join Stepscience team because she has always been interested in the interface between science and technology, especially in the pharmaceutical industry. She believes that working in this field will allow her “to put my skills and knowledge to good use and contribute o the development of innovative solutions that can improve people’s lives.”
When she started her job at the company, her first impression of Stepscience was of a very dynamic and fast paced environment. “Everyone was very friendly and helpful, and there was a strong sense of teamwork and collaboration. I felt like I was part of a community that was passionate about what they were doing, and I was happy to be a part of it.” At Stepsciense Raquel has found access to training and development opportunities and colleagues that are incredibly supportive and encouraging. “The company also values diversity, equality and inclusion, and the work we do has a real purpose and mission. Overall, I feel very fortunate to be part of such a great team and to have the opportunity to work in such an exciting and influential field.”
She has a variety of hobbies and interests that keep her busy outside of work. She enjoys playing piano and guitar, as she is passionate about music. Traveling is another of her great passions, and she has been fortunate enough to visit many different countries around the world. “I love immersing myself in other cultures and experiencing new things.”
Looking ahead, Raquel has several goals that she hopes to achieve in the short term. First, she wants to excel in her role as a junior pharmaceutical consultant and continue to learn as much as possible about the industry. She wants to “build good relationships with clients and colleagues and have a positive impact on the projects I work on.”
Secondly, she wants to improve her technical skills and expand her knowledge in areas such as process optimization, validation, and regulatory compliance. She wants to become an asset to the team and be able to contribute to the success of the project she is working on.
As for the future of the pharmaceutical and life sciences industry, Raquel sees great potential for growth and innovation. “With the increasing demand for personalized medicine and the emergence of new technologies, there are endless opportunities to improve patient outcomes and drive progress in this field.”
She believes” sustainability and ethical considerations will become increasingly important in the industry, and companies will need to prioritize transparency and responsible practices to maintain consumer trust.”
Thank you, Raquel, and welcome to Stepscience Pharma & Engineering!
